Dental Assisting Technology & Management Application Procedure

In order to apply for this A.S. degree program, you must first complete a one-year Dental Assisting program that is accredited by the American Dental Association's Commission on Dental Accreditation and meet standards recommended by the Florida Board of Dentistry.  

  • Graduates of an ADA accredited Dental Assisting Applied Technology Diploma (ATD) or a Post Secondary Adult Vocational (CTC) Program will be awarded up to 50 college credits toward the A.S. degree, if courses were completed within the last 3 years of the A.S. degree start.
  • Cumulative grade point average in the Dental Assisting program must be 2.5 or higher.

*Transcripts from the previous one-year dental assisting program will be evaluated for transfer of credits into the A.S. degree program.*

You may begin this A.S. degree in any semester: fall, spring or summer. Each degree option contains courses that may be completed online or in the traditional classroom setting. You will graduate from this program once all course requirements have been met.

New Students:  Complete the online application for admission to Eastern Florida State College prior to program application deadline. There is a $30 non-refundable application fee for admission that must be submitted at the time of application to the college. Submit Official transcripts to EFSC from high school and all colleges attended.

Returning Students: If you have attended EFSC in the past, but not during the last year, you must do a readmit application.  There is no application fee for a readmit application. Submit Official transcripts to EFSC if you attended another college or university in the interim.

NOTE: EFSC Dental Assisting Students/Graduates ONLY -  Currently enrolled students, or graduates within the last 3 years DO NOT have to complete an application to the program. It is recommended to meet with a Health Science Advisor to review qualifications for the AS degree.
