Eastern Florida State College regularly holds contests and drawings to give current students a chance to win cool prizes. Explore the list below for eligibility requirements, deadlines, how to enter and more information about each promotion.

Kahoot! Trivia Contest

ELIGIBILITY

The Hispanic Heritage Month Kahoot! Trivia Contest (the "Contest") is open to currently enrolled Eastern Florida State College students who are legal residents of the fifty (50) United States or the District of Columbia and are at least eighteen (18) years old at the time of entry (or who submit a signed parent/guardian consent and release form). Employees of Eastern Florida State College (the "Sponsor") and other companies associated with the promotion of the Contest and their respective immediate families (spouses, parents, siblings and children) and household members are not eligible to win.

CONTEST PERIOD

The Contest begins on Monday, September 21, 2020 at 9:00 AM ET and ends on Thursday, September 24, 2020 at 7:00 PM ET (the "Contest Period"). Entries that are submitted before or after the Contest Period will be disqualified.

HOW TO ENTER

To enter, students should visit the Titan Virtual Hub during the Contest Period, then:

  1. Check in to Virtual Hispanic Heritage Month,
  2. Click the Microsoft Teams link at one of the designated times (9-10 AM, 12-1 PM, or 6-7 PM) to gain Kahoot! access from the game proctor,
  3. Enter a username comprised of the first 15 characters of their Titan student email address, and
  4. Answer the trivia questions.

Students may compete in multiple rounds of trivia, but are only eligible to win one (1) prize throughout the duration of the Contest. Data pertaining to all entries become the property of the Sponsor and will not be acknowledged or returned.

WINNER SELECTION

On or around Monday, September 21, 2020 and Thursday, September 24, 2020, one or more entities working on behalf of the Sponsor will select the potential winner(s) in accordance with any judging criteria (number of correct answers and speed) from among all eligible entries. The odds of being selected depend on the number of entries received. The Sponsor will attempt to notify the potential winner(s) via social media, email or telephone on or around Monday, September 21, 2020 and Thursday, September 24, 2020. If the potential winner(s) cannot be contacted within five (5) days, the Sponsor may select alternate potential winner(s) from among the remaining eligible entries. Any prize having a total announced value of $5,000 or more must be offered in strict compliance with §849.094, Florida Statutes.

The winner(s) of the Contest will receive:

Any and all prize-related expenses, including without limitation, any and all federal, state and/or local income taxes, shall be the sole responsibility of the winner. Any winner of a prize valued in excess of $600 at the time of award must provide his or her social security number, EIN or TIN to Eastern Florida State College and shall receive an IRS Form 1099. Virtual Poetry Contest

ELIGIBILITY

The Hispanic Heritage Month Virtual Poetry Contest (the "Contest") is open to currently enrolled Eastern Florida State College students who are legal residents of the fifty (50) United States or the District of Columbia and are at least eighteen (18) years old at the time of entry (or who submit a signed parent/guardian consent and release form). Employees of Eastern Florida State College (the "Sponsor") and other companies associated with the promotion of the Contest and their respective immediate families (spouses, parents, siblings and children) and household members are not eligible to win.

CONTEST PERIOD

The Contest begins on Sunday, September 27, 2020 at 12:00 PM ET and ends on Saturday, October 3, 2020 at 12:00 PM ET (the "Contest Period"). Entries that are submitted before or after the Contest Period will be disqualified.

HOW TO ENTER

To enter, students should visit the Titan Virtual Hub during the Contest Period, then:

  1. Check in to Virtual Hispanic Heritage Month,
  2. Record a video (.mp4 or .mov, up to 1GB) of themselves reciting an original HHM-themed poem or a poem written by their favorite Hispanic poet (see the submission requirements on the Titan Virtual Hub for important details), and
  3. Upload the video to the HHM Virtual Poetry Contest form. (To access the form, students must log in using their Titan student email address.)

Limit one (1) entry per person for the duration of the Contest Period. Entries received from any person in excess of the stated limitation will be void. Data pertaining to all entries become the property of the Sponsor and will not be acknowledged or returned.

WINNER SELECTION

On or around Monday, October 12, 2020, one or more entities working on behalf of the Sponsor will select the potential winner(s) in accordance with any judging criteria (effectiveness, creativity, style, and quality) from among all eligible entries. The odds of being selected depend on the number of entries received. The Sponsor will attempt to notify the potential winner(s) via social media, email or telephone on or around Monday, October 12, 2020. If the potential winner(s) cannot be contacted within five (5) days, the Sponsor may select alternate potential winner(s) from among the remaining eligible entries. Any prize having a total announced value of $5,000 or more must be offered in strict compliance with §849.094, Florida Statutes.

Countries Jigsaw Puzzle Challenge

ELIGIBILITY

The Hispanic Heritage Month Countries Jigsaw Puzzle Challenge (the "Contest") is open to currently enrolled Eastern Florida State College students who are legal residents of the fifty (50) United States or the District of Columbia and are at least eighteen (18) years old at the time of entry (or who submit a signed parent/guardian consent and release form). Employees of Eastern Florida State College (the "Sponsor") and other companies associated with the promotion of the Contest and their respective immediate families (spouses, parents, siblings and children) and household members are not eligible to win.

CONTEST PERIOD

The Contest begins on Monday, September 28, 2020 at 9:00 AM ET and ends on Thursday, October 1, 2020 at 9:00 PM ET (the "Contest Period"). Entries that are submitted before or after the Contest Period will be disqualified.

HOW TO ENTER

To enter, students should visit the Titan Virtual Hub during the Contest Period, then:

  1. Check in to Virtual Hispanic Heritage Month,
  2. Click the link to the third-party puzzle site,
  3. Create an account using their Titan student email address as the username, and
  4. Solve one or more of the Hispanic Heritage Month puzzles on the site. For an attempt to be valid, the puzzle must be set at 60 pieces for the duration of the game.

Students may solve multiple puzzles, but are only eligible to win one (1) prize throughout the duration of the Contest. Data pertaining to all entries become the property of the Sponsor and will not be acknowledged or returned.

WINNER SELECTION

On or around Monday, October 5, 2020, one or more entities working on behalf of the Sponsor will select the potential winner(s) in accordance with any judging criteria (speed) from among all eligible entries. The odds of being selected depend on the number of entries received. The Sponsor will attempt to notify the potential winner(s) via social media, email or telephone on or around Wednesday, October 7, 2020. If the potential winner(s) cannot be contacted within five (5) days, the Sponsor may select alternate potential winner(s) from among the remaining eligible entries. Any prize having a total announced value of $5,000 or more must be offered in strict compliance with §849.094, Florida Statutes.

The Contest begins on Sunday, October 4, 2020 at 12:00 PM ET and ends on Saturday, October 10, 2020 at 12:00 PM ET (the "Contest Period"). Entries that are submitted before or after the Contest Period will be disqualified.

HOW TO ENTER

To enter, students should visit the Titan Virtual Hub during the Contest Period, then:

  1. Check in to Virtual Hispanic Heritage Month,
  2. Fill out the Hispanic Culture Library Scavenger Hunt Form using EFSC's Library EBSCO Databases, and
  3. Email it to LibraryB@easternflorida.edu.

Limit one (1) entry per person for the duration of the Contest Period. Entries received from any person in excess of the stated limitation will be void. Data pertaining to all entries become the property of the Sponsor and will not be acknowledged or returned.

The Contest begins on Thursday, October 15, 2020 at 1:00 PM ET and ends on Thursday, October 15, 2020 at 2:30 PM ET (the "Contest Period"). Entries that are submitted before or after the Contest Period will be disqualified.

HOW TO ENTER

To enter, students should visit the Titan Virtual Hub during the Contest Period, then:

  1. Check in to Virtual Hispanic Heritage Month,
  2. Click the link to join virtual music bingo on Microsoft Teams using their Titan student email account. After joining, students will be provided access to the bingo game.

Students may compete in multiple rounds of bingo, but are only eligible to win one (1) prize throughout the duration of the Contest. Data pertaining to all entries become the property of the Sponsor and will not be acknowledged or returned.

WINNER SELECTION

On or around Monday, October 19, 2020, one or more entities working on behalf of the Sponsor will select the potential winner(s) in accordance with any judging criteria (first one to correctly call bingo) from among all eligible entries. The odds of being selected depend on the number of entries received. The Sponsor will attempt to notify the potential winner(s) via social media, email or telephone on or around Monday, October 19, 2020.
